Line Adventures with Kindergarten: Part 2!

Kindergarteners are learning about line, an important element of art. For their introductory activity, they drew a variety of different kinds of lines with oil pastel, then added color with watercolor.

Next, we used lines to create "Bad Hair Day" portraits. First, kindergarteners drew a face and neck. Then they once again drew the wide variety of lines they had been practicing- but this time, the lines connected to the heads they drew to create a "bad hair day." Finally, they used markers to color in their "hair-do's." It was a silly, fun project with eye-catching results!
