Lunar New Year Paper Cuttings

Fourth graders learned about Chinese cut paper art. They observed the delicate paper and the impeccable artistry of a set of cut chrysanthemums. Then, they learned about the Chinese zodiac and its cultural significance. Using reference images for inspiration, they drew their own dog images. Then, they cut the designs out of red paper because red is a traditional good luck color in Chinese culture.
